Abstract:

Karyotypé morphology of six species of Passeriformes (Turdus philomelos, T. pilaris, T. merula, Monticola solitarius, Coccothraustes coccothraustes, Sturnus vulgaris) is studied. Cytotaxonomical interrelationships within Turdidae, Fringillidae and Sturnidae are discussed and the rele - vance of karyosystematics in ornithological studies is pointed out.
